Dominican Republic V

For the 5th Action with the Dominican Republic, MIEUX+ partnered with the National School for Migration (NSM) of the National Institute for Migration. The main objective of this Action was to enhance the knowledge and capacity of civil servants from different ministries of the Dominican Republic who work on migration, specifically on the nexus between migration and mental health.

Through the organisation of two dedicated webinars, the public officials were able to learn from peer-to-peer exchange and, as a result, strenghtened their knowledge on the topic. These online meetings were aimed at public health practitioners from the Ministry of Health, technical staff and inspectors from the Ministry of Labour, officials from the Prosecutor’s Office, including psychologists; technical staff from the Ministry of Defence, and other relevant officials from the national migration council.

The webinars were held on 15 and 22 September 2022 on key concepts of psychosocial impact on people in mobility contexts and counted with the participation of some over 40 migration officials.
