The Philippines II

For the second Action in the country, MIEUX collaborated with the Philippines Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and experts from Belgium, Germany, Indonesia, Romania, and United Kingdom to improve interagency cooperation, coordination and partnership to prevent trafficking of human beings and illegal recruitment. 

The newly acquired knowledge on referral mechanisms for victims of trafficking and illegal recruitment was consolidated into the "Handbook for the Investigation and Prosecution of Illegal Recruitment Cases and Illegal Recruitment Cases Connected to Trafficking in Persons" and its sustainability ensured through a Training of Trainers for key staff within the POEA.
