As a pioneering global capacity building facility on migration set up in 2008, MIEUX can feed inspiration and know-how to the future global capacity building mechanism by drawing from its experience in managing close to 100 interventions, mobilising over 400 migration experts and cooperating with over 120 governments over the last ten years.
Taking the 23rd objective of the GCM as the starting point for this discussion, MIEUX’s side event will explore the key elements, success factors and challenges in establishing, delivering and monitoring capacity building facilities; analyse which the most suitable approaches to engage with partners in creating enabling environments; and overall, discuss the role of capacity building in relation to the implementation and review of the GCM.

The event is open exclusively to registered participants to the 11th Global Forum on Migration and Development Summit taking place in Marrakesh on 5-7 December 2018. ICMPD cannot organise registration for the Summit nor grant access to anyone that has not registered previously through the GFMD’s official registration procedure.
