Description
Despite sustained economic growth over the last decade, Tunisia remains a country of emigration and transit due to slow political democratisation and high unemployment rates. In addition, the political changes that took place in Tunisia since the beginning of 2011, as well as the overall situation in the region, have had direct consequences on migratory flows, both within the region and from the region to Europe.
The Government of Tunisia, through the Secretariat of State under the Ministry of Social Affairs in charge of Migration and Tunisians Abroad, requested assistance from MIEUX for the development of the National Observatory for Migration.
This Action contributed to the development of sustainable institutional tools on various migration data management aspects are developed with the support of the experts and by the relevant authorities.
