Description
Undergoing economic reconstruction and political stabilisation, Angola is increasingly becoming a destination country for immigration. Its fast-growing economy is attracting many migrant workers in addition to the displaced people and refugees, primarily from Congo, already present in the country.
The Law on the Status of Foreigners was adopted in 2007 and the Service of Migration and Foreigners requested MIEUX’s technical assistance to strengthen its capacities to continue to develop the domestic migration and asylum legal framework.
An assessment of the Migration and Asylum institutional and legal framework and a Seminar on Migration Legislation Development were organised to facilitate the Formulation of recommendations for legislative improvement.
