Ukraine is a transit and destination country for persons seeking international protection and asylum. Since 2011, the country has offered two forms of protection: refugee status and subsidiary protection. Despite the ongoing efforts on integration of refugees and people with subsidiary protectionan effective, the lack of political priority given to these populations adds challenges such as limited social assistance or access to healthcare.
In this context, the Ukrainian State Migration Service (SMS) requested support from MIEUX+ to strengthen its capacities as well as other relevant local stakeholders to manage the integration of refugees and persons of need of subsidiary protection with protection in a coordinated and effective manner.
This Action will deliver an Action Plan, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as well as recommendations for the development of materials for refugees and persons with subsidiary protection.
