Description
Myanmar is the second largest country in South-East Asia after Indonesia. The national population grows by 0.9% per year and the labour force represents 55% of the total population. Despite its natural resources, Myanmar is one of the poorest countries in South-East Asia.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population of Myanmar requested support from MIEUX to support the efforts in protecting the rights of migrant workers against labour exploitation, promoting ethical recruitment and labour migration management through the "Prevention and Protection Draft Plan".
This project fed on the results of the previous one, where the Practical Handbook on the Management of Labour Migration in Myanmar was developed.
