Description
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa with over 160 million people2. It has a long history of extensive migration and as such migration constitutes a vital economic and social feature of the country. To enhance the capacities of Nigerian authorities in the delivery, collection and analysis of reliable data on labour migration in order to assist in the design of appropriate policy responses, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity (FMLP) requested support from MIEUX.

This second MIEUX Action in the African country contributed to produce a labour migration data collection methodolofy as well as guidelines that the FMLP could use to conduct surveys to gather data on labour migration.
